Visitor Activities
Large-Scale Restoration Project Will Strengthen Saltmarshes at John H. Chafee National Wildlife Refuge

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and The Nature Conservancy are functioning with partners, consisting of the Rhode Island also Coastal Resources Management Council, to restore and also strengthen saltmarsh habitat at John H. Chafee National Wildlife Refuge. The project will boost wildlife habitat and also permit the marsh to withstand the results of sea-level climb and seaside storm surge. In enhancement, it will improve habitat for marine fish by enhancing the growth of eel grass and also developing deeper networks for cool water refugia.
